Mattin Stepaneos
The Champion of Treachery
Mattin is a human that acted as one of the floor champions of Zircon. His floor was a tavern themed around being within a dungeon with goblin waitstaff for those that would enter. As travelers would be treated to hot meals and hospitality, they would then be escorted into their rooms. This is where they would have their equipment stolen and the travelers eventually assassinated. The greatest act of treachery was Mattin's forceful severing of Zircon from the rest of His influence and freeing the Champions from the dungeon. His mount is recognized as being a Warhorse.
Dogma
Mattin is a smarmy champion with a deep desire to be free. This desire burned deep enough within Him that He would try to achieve this freedom at any cost. Even if it cost Him everything. He lost even the very "family" He grew to admire as His peers. Mattin represents more of the costs of treachery and the repercussions of one's actions.
Gaining Favor or Redemption
Gaining favor with Mattin requires worshippers to put on a facade for the sake of getting what they want. To have this facade revealed to be so is detrimental to one's self and to Mattin's reputation. Redemption is sought through recovering from such a grievance and achieving what was initially needed to be gained.
Interactions with the world
Worshippers of Zircon tend to develop the unctuous traits that Mattin is known for. With this comes the desire to seek attention from those you find close to you. Worshippers of Mattin have been known to try and coerce others to take their side and may even have them take the blame for acts they never performed. Many Cores find it difficult to work with Mattin worshippers as they typically have dreams of being free from their dungeons and these desires can possibly lead to the betrayal of the dungeon itself.
