Hendrick
The Icon of Necromancy
Hendrick, also known as the Silver Star, is a man pale as freshly fallen snow, bright in comparison to his white cloak that looks almost priestly, a dagger on his side so rarely used it shines like that of a silver star. His voice only ever being asked for, but never freely given. He was well respected amongst His peers, and this respect was due to His dedication in the field. Hendrick was known for His applications of necrotic magic in ways similar to healing magic. It is believed that Hendrick was the creator of the Necromancer mark in hopes of observing His process being applied by mortal subjects. His mount is recognized as being a Light War Horse.
Dogma
Hendrick is a humble and reserved Icon that prefers to speak through His actions as opposed to words. He sees stories about one’s accomplishments as unnecessary banter and would rather they provide proof of their merit instead of wasted time and baited breath. Hendrick was not what one would consider meticulous in the field, but He was about expediency and efficiency.
Gaining Favor or Redemption
To gain favor with Hendrick, one must engage in the pursuit of knowledge at almost any cost. Even if this cost is one’s own life. However, to boast about the acquisition of knowledge is abhorrent to Hendrick and grounds for loss of favor. Redemption is found through taking a vow of silence. This vow is dealt through a weighted piercing through the tongue to aid in the prevention of breaking the vow. This vow must be undergone for half a year or else Hendrick will never bestow His favor upon the transgressor until they have subsequently perished.
Interactions with the world
Hendrick does not truly interact with Omen. However, it is believed that the Necromancer mark acts as a conduit between Him and the world of Omen and surrounding planar cosmology. This allows Him to gather information on various locations and provide the locations to His own worshippers. There are very few Hendrick worshippers that have benefited from His guidance, but it is believed that if one were lucky enough, they would receive a boon of knowledge that would aid in their transcendence beyond mortal flesh and blood.
