Gthuldrullah
The Embodiment of the Unknown
Gthuldrullah embodies knowledge unattainable and the unknown. Their only known form is that of a crystalline boulder that radiates a permeating heat that causes the power and lifeforce of their surroundings to diminish. Their form was taken by Caladon, the Immortal Idol of Vengeance and Pacts, and thrust against the world of Omedei. Gthuldrullah sought to garner support from the townsfolk, but a field of void magic hindered any commands for assistance and turned the townsfolk that mined Gthuldrullah's crystals into crystal-encrusted husks that sought to kill anything that was not a part of the "hivemind". Their mount is recognized as being a Madness Harvester.
Dogma
Gthuldrullah is an observant Embodiment, but the times they choose to assist mortals are more common than what would be believed. Their actions reflect the need to not just provide strength to those that need it to pursue goals that benefit Gthuldrullah, but these actions are meant to test the self-control of mortals. Gthuldrullah's power is unbridled and dangerous, but it can be harnessed by those that exhibit self-control.
Gaining Favor or Redemption
To gain favor with Gthuldrullah, it is expected to observe and provide counsel as opposed to acting without proper recourse. To be brash or misuse the influence of Gthuldrullah is cause to lose favor. To redeem yourself, one must isolate in nigh uninhabited lands and deprive one's self of their senses for a week. After doing so, one must commune with Gthuldrullah with a new understanding of the forbidden knowledge that was surely gained during this isolation.
Interactions with the World
Gthuldrullah has provided very little to Omedei, but one contribution that was implanted deep within the coves of Omedei are small ferns with tentacle-like fronds. These light blue plants are dark blue, or sometimes purple, on the bottoms of the fronds and feel like they are covered in a viscous slime when touched. This plant is known as Flayroot, and when crushed and mixed with any kind of healing potion, the resulting paste can be applied to the roof of one's mouth to restore/reinforce the mind. The primary applications of Flayroot is to restore memory loss, or in more extreme circumstances, restore the brain of a creature.
