Uverxis Ocean

The Uverxis Ocean is the northernmost ocean on Omeath. It is characterized by glaciers to the very far north near the poles, freezing winds, and dark salty waters. This is one of the three oceans that surround Czerelan along with the Serantic Ocean and the Aetisian Ocean.

Geography

The Uverxis Ocean is a large northern body of water with incredibly salty waters and countless rocky islands and glaciers spread throughout the waters. Hardly any of these islands are habited due to the fact that they are mostly unlivable. These islands are great sources of coldwater fish, but have very little arable soil and a short period of suitable temperature. With what arable soil there would be, there is permafrost. The sea touches the coastlines of Czerelan, Uvria, and Talsore. These rocky waters are perfect for whaling, fishing, and trapping winter creatures, however they also have their dangers.

Ecosystem

With it being a smaller ocean, this ocean is home to countless species of sea life and coastal creatures. Most of the creatures who live in this region are evolved to counteract the bitter cold that is found for most of the year. Most creatures have an insulating material like blubber or layers of fur. However, some have strange or rare evolutions that still boggle the mind of some anatomists.   The Uver Trout is a creature that can be found quite commonly in the Uverxis Ocean. A smaller species of fish that swim in large schools through the water. They feed on

Localized Phenomena

In the Uverxis Ocean's northern reaches near the Uver Circle, there is a storm known as Chillwind Breath. Chillwind Breath is a storm that can sometimes happen in the northern reaches. A rare occurence to be sure, but still deadly to anyone who could come in contact with such a storm. These winds are strong enough to pick up a small vessel or the men aboard. They are cold enough to freeze an underprepared traveller, and in several cases of survivors of the storm, the wind feels sharp to the touch. Luckily, these storms are easy to notice as the wind will have a cool taste similar to the aftertaste of mint when one is headed towards you.
