The War of Anrinates

The War of Anrinates was a large scale conflict in the region of Oracesis. Fought between the Kingdom of Syracae and the Oracesi Coatlition. Over 400 years ago, it stills hold sizeable weight in the politics of the region to this day.
Anrinates
Anrinates IV was the last king of a unified Syracae. The Dwarven Monarch from House Perioktak was a brash, honest, and strong leader beloved by his people. However, a grave insult to his name would spur him on to war with the realm of Ardocia. House Perioktak was a large family of roughly 68 members. One of which was Ilgriina Perioktak, the sister of Anrinates. Ilgriina was married to a noble of Northern Ardocia named Incenzo De Folli. When their son was born the promise of a Perioktak Heir was announced to the realm. However, the son died from a terrible riding accident and the question of who would be the heir reared its head. Anrinates, Ilgriina, and other Syracae nobles supported the claim of the son of Anrinates, Kalsirn. However, the Ardocians, including Incenzo De Folli supported other potential options, such as Incenzo's nephew Marcus. As the situation dragged on, negotations grew shorter and more belligerent, until Anrinates pressed his claim on the realm of Ardocia and declared war.
First Blood Spilled
As war was declared. More realms joined their causes. Syracae recieved support from the Dwarves of Sfyridos. Whereas many southern realms sided with Ardocia, fearing the encroaching might of a strong Syracae. Syrae armies marched southwards. Upon meeting the Ardocian armies along the fields of Tserno, the Syrae army entered open combat against the army of Cavada and Ardocia. After a long and arduous struggle. The Syrae army managed to force the Oracesi forces into a rout and pushed them further south. This would continue as the Syrae armies saw more and more victories in their campaign. However, the battle of the Seregrine Cliffs would turn the tide of the war.
The Tides Turn
As the forces of Syracae march southwards towards the lands of the Ardocian Capital. The coalition forces made a final effort to try and thwart the invasion of Anrinates. With the assistance of a new group of Chorvarian mages known as The Sulfieri, the Coalition forces made their stand at the Seregrine Cliffs in the hills outside the city. As the Syrae forces moved forwards, they met only defeat against the enemy. The Syrae army was forced to retreat and they lost more land as they were pushed by the Oracesi force. At the battle of Orconi, the Oracesi Coalition would capture King Anrinates IV, forcing him to sign the Treaty of Baskola, and ending the war. One of the main effects of the treaty, was the immediate dethronement of Anirnates IV, and the disbandment of the Kingdom, forming the Dukata.
