Janera

Janera

The Once Triumphant Once a powerful warrior traversing the realms in a crusade for justice and truth. To protect the sanctity of life and destroy those who would seek to desecrate such a gift. Tricked into blasphemy, she was stripped of her powers and forced to walk the mortal realm in a mortal body. Although she has been stripped of many of her powers, she still hold quite a bit of divine magic, making her a target of those she seeks to help or save.   Once known as Janera, The Triumphant. She was a heroic angel in the legions of Almara, goddess of light and life. She served as a commander for squadrons of angels, wielding a powerful blade known as Truthblood. The blade was a longsword with a blunted tip, created to dispense justice and not to kill needlessly. With deep umber skin and soft ivory curls for hair, he rode along the clouds with her squadrons of angels at her side. Her blade shone with ethereal light as it struck down fiends and foul creatures alike. She has fought in countless campaigns throughout the ages. She fought during the creation of the world. She led an army during the war against the Aboleths. She was instrumental during the Ruination and served during the Raze of Avalon. Her blade tasted the blood of hundreds of hellspawn and abberation alike during the battle, but was forced to retreat. One of the Crowns, known as the Prince of Razors saw her as prey. A twig to bend until it cracks. He tricked her into killing one of her most trusted lieutenants, upon doing so her goddess Almara shuddered and cast out Janera.   Upon the Mortal Realm in a Mortal Shell During the midst of the Ruination. She was kicked out of Almara's armies and sent to the Mortal Realm with only a fraction of her power. She would land in the blasted wastes of Kaozia. He sword in fragments, she set out on a quest to find them. Most of her years on the mortal plane, she spent in utter exile. Buried by guilt and loss, she hid among the edge of the wastes. When a town suffered at the hand of the Prince of Razor's cult, she resolved to break out of her isolation and try to find her sword.   Upon making her way into the Underdark, she would be overwhelmed by a large group of Drow who would known her unconscious and take her to be a part of magical experiments. She was dragged to a Drow town, Alsazarathan, where she would be the subject and victim of a Scion of House Tivarilis. She would make a daring escape attempt and run to the outer reaches of Tivarilis territory. Having made her escape, she sought solitude and found it by making friends with a powerful, ill dragon who lived in the Underdark. Zaiphath and Janera would become fast friends but she would be captured once again and used to power an Anivance.

Personal history

Forged with sparks of light by the gods, the angels are meant to be their servants, messengers, and warriors. Janera was no different, created by the gods during a conflict that threatened their existance. A species known as the Aboleths had been fighting the gods in the waning power of their empire. They sought to take revenge for the collapse of their world and fought tooth and nail. Numerous angelic legions were created to fight in the name of the gods and their future. One of the gods, a goddess of life and light, created her legions and treated them as they were her children. Janera, was a prized daughter of her mother. Skilled in combat, honest, and caring she fought valiantly for her beloved mother against the writhing creatures who sought to kill her. This conflict introduced her to the horrors of conflict, many of her brothers and sisters would not return home. Janera, her mother, and the remainder of her siblings mourned. They took the energies of the fallen and forged them into new beings, blessing the world with souls imbued with divine energy.   Janera would continue to serve Almara valiantly for millenia. She fought in numerous conflicts across the planes for the good of her family. During a war on the mortal plane, she fought on the front lines against a horde of demons spilling from a portal in Amracet. She would meet an Elven man during the conflict who was carrying the wounded away from the battlefield and tending to the wounded. She would take a grevious wound from one of the demons, cleaving through her right arm and side. She dispatched it quickly with a sweeping blow from her sword, cleaving into the fiend's torso and seperating the head and shoulder from the rest of the body. The Elven man, whose last name was Olori, would carry her away once the dust had settled. Tending to her wounds, she thanked him gratefully and felt a ping of affection for the Elf. Due to the conflict she could not stay, but she would bless him with divine blood, the ability to heal and a latent magic in his bloodline.   Later on during the Ruination, she would be present at the first battle. Her legion was called to Avalon to defend from a grevious attack. Her soldiers entered through a portal in the sky and witnessed the battle unfolding below them. Swathes of demons and abberations desecrating the peaceful landscapes, slaughtering those who lived there. The plane was being invaded by the King of Rot and Izrazen the Purifier. The King's plagues were carried on the backs of his foul spawn, while Izrazen's servants spewed fire over the surrounding area. She descended into the fray cleaving the defilers with her blade. However, as the battle continued and the fires and plagues consumed more of the realm, it was clear they could not win. Almara ordered a retreat of her forces and Avalon was lost to the Crowns. While thise was not her first defeat, this was her most crushing defeat at this point. An entire plane lost to the forces of death and destruction. She would continue to serve admirably, until seeds of disruption were sowed within her legion. One of her trusted allies, a lieutenant angel named Telariel was suspected of treason. She was given undeniable proof by another angel, the Prince of Razors in disguise. He continued to manipulate her and during a battle against the forces of Psematamyalo on Omeath, she slew Telariel. Once Telariel hit the ground in a pool of blood, she realized her mistake. The proof she had been given was forged and her mind was clouded. She felt the appalled gaze of Almara upon her back, and Janera was stripped of her powers.
