Dwarves

Dwarves are strong, sturdy, and proud. Also referred to as Vounis in their own tongue, Dwarves origininally come from the continent of Czerelan. Their civilizations rose in the crags and caves of the mountains, spreading down into the rolling hills and sprawling plains of the land beyond. Their oldest kingdoms are those in the vast mountain ranges that divide the continent, including the Zikos, Aderic, and Vas mountain ranges. The Zikos and Aderic are still home to the largest and oldest Dwarven civilizations on the continent, while the Vas mountains were conquered taken by the humans. The Dwarves who once inhabited those mountains were cast into the sea, never to see their homes again. There are also large communities of Dwarves in the Copperspine Mountains on the The Daggerpoint Peninsula and in the lands of Syracae andf Sunavae. Along the western coastlines of Czerelan, stories have been told of raiding parties landing on the shore, Dwarven warriors getting off of great ships and sacking the land.
The Vounic peoples share a common creation myth. The tale involves them being created by the gods Echniros and Mycheri who forged them from the earth to populate the land. They wielded great gifts that were offered by their divine father. Craftsmanship, strength, and ingenuity. However, as they moved listlessly through life they realized they missed an integral part, and ruby hearts were crafted by the mother goddess to offer them further gifts. They were bestowed with the ideas of family and creativity. Their hearts flled with pride and they sang songs of their deeds. They became a people of stories and acestral lines, taking pride in those who came before and those who will come after.

Anatomy

This squat species of humanoids have thick and sturdy frames. Appearing shorter but bulkier than humans. Their skeletal structure is also thicker than that of the humans. An adult Dwarf usually stands between 3 feet and 5 inches to 5 feet tall, with the average being around 4 feet. Their average weight is around 150 pounds

Growth Rate & Stages

The Dwarves are a long lived species. They can live for up to 350 years old and their life holds many stages.
They are considered young until they are 50 years old. Long enough to gather enough experience to be considered a proper adult by Dwarven society.
