Ferric Bank of Jyggalag

The Ferric Bank of Jyggalag is arguably the most powerful financial institution in Known Space, with clients across the Great Powers (except the xenophobic Qunzain Empire). Taking advantage of the destruction caused by the Swarm Incursion, the Bank leveraged its vast wealth to save (gain nigh-monopolistic control of) the AetherPulse Generator network, the primary means by which interstellar communication is conducted. Now charged with the maintenance of the APG network, the Ferric Bank presents itself as a neutral arbiter between the Powers.
The Bank issues its own currency - the Credit - which has become the standard in interstellar commerce; it created the IronStar News Bureau ostensibly to provide news service across the Known Space; and the Mercenary Review Board was formed as an 'honest broker' for the booming mercenary industry. It is a common saying that the bank often reminds its clients who fail to repay their loans: "the Ferric Bank will have its due". The Bank has a reputation of funding the enemies of clients who fail to repay their debts.
In addition to their commercial functions, all corporate offices are also temples of Jyggalag and AetherPulse Generators. They maintain a set of common architectural touches, such as solid, pragmatic, secure construction, obsessively precise ornamentation, and highly polished iron mirrors.
Most of its employees are secular, but executive and corporate officers of the Ferric Bank are priests of Jyggalag, with its chief executive officer also serving as the church's executive archdirector. Planets and major operations are led by archdirectors who also sit on the Bank's board of directors. Directors and managers are also often priests of Jyggalag.
The Ferric Bank is composed of several branches, all reporting to the CEO and the board of directors. Current branches include:
•Communications - The largest and most central division of the Bank, this branch sees to the maintenance and operation of the massive APG network.
•Financial Affairs - The second largest division, this branch deals with the monetary affairs of the Bank, its banking services and control of the Credit.
•Archives and History - maintaining the vast Hall of History, this branch administers a wide range of services, including the Ferric Census and a wide range of historical research.
•Stellar Relations - The Bank's diplomatic division.
•Science and Research - The Bank's R&D arm. This branch is responsible for keeping technological parity with the developments of Great Powers.
•IronStar News Bureau - The News Bureau is the largest news organization in the Known Space.
•Mercenary Review Board - The board was developed to ensure good dealings between mercenary units and their employers.
•Fundamentals Branch - This division is responsible for interpreting the teachings of Jyggalag and the Ferric Bank doctrine.
