Elevators

Elevators were first invented in the City of Mist. They were developed for dwarves to get ore from the mines up to the forges and get miners up and down as quickly as possible. This invention has allowed processing times and workloads to be decreased for the miners in the Mines of Omarthia . Originally the elevators were only used by the miners for resources as many miners would stay down in the mines for a long time, often a week or two. Throughout the years, many accidents with the ore elevators led to improved safety to reduce the loss of ore. This safety improvement was also combined with introducing a double-level elevator, which enabled both the miners and the ores to travel safely to and from the mines to the forges and the city. This innovation has led to the improvement of the work environment of the dwarven miners, as well as improving the total output of ores. Elevators are now being put into place in the Silverkeep side of the Mines of Omarthia. This has taken quite a bit of time due to the specific changes that were needed to be made to the elevators seeing that other ores are being mined from that part of the mine. Another part of the changes that had to be made to the elevators on the side of Silverkeep was the height of the personnel cabin of the elevator as most of the miners from the city of Silverkeep are significantly bigger than the dwarven miners of the City of Mist.
