Gnome
Gnomes are small but extremely intelligent humanoids with pointed ears (and often large noses). Gnomes often have wild hair, but the males keep their beard trimmed and styled. Gnomes are skilled at many things, such as science, magic, mathematics, engineering, music, engineering, and anything else to which they take a fancy.
There are two known sub-species of gnome: rock gnomes and forest gnomes. Rock gnomes are far more common than the rare and reclusive forest gnomes.
Both sub-races of gnome speak the gnomic language and write in gnomic script.
Forest Gnome
Forest gnomes are elusive gnomes that live in hidden communities in the wilderness. They have a natural affinity for magic, especially illusionary magic, which they use to disguise their villages from prying eyes. They are also very close to nature, and can speak with small animals.Rock Gnome
Rock gnomes (or common gnomes) are the most prolific and well-known species of gnome in the land of Arcania. This sub-species was originally subterranean, but now many rock gnomes live on the surface world, either in their own communities or amidst the communities of other species. Many rock gnomes have an affinity for science, engineering, and math, and the sub-species has introduced countless new technologies and concepts to the people of Om. Rock gnomes can also be quite adept at magic.Civilization and Culture
