Anthi
Anthi is the Arvini goddess of the sea, a creator goddess and part of the First Pantheon. She is the twin sister of Kanta, the goddess of the depths of the ocean, and has two lovers: Ieyar, the god of the land, and Binir, god of the sky. By Ieyar, she is the mother of Talva, goddess of rivers; Nori, goddess of plants; Imani, god of humans; Shani, goddess of sea creatures; and Ilaren, god of animals. By Binir, Anthi is mother to Sahin, god of clouds; Lenir, goddess of stars; Ednera, goddess of night and magic; Kelvo, god of the sun; and Monis, goddess of the wind.
When the world first began, the twin sisters of the ocean, Anthi and Ryshi, came into being. They ruled the seas as one, equals in every sense. As time passed, Anthi created all sorts of living beings for the ocean; fish and dolphins and turtles. Eventually, she become the lover of Ieyar, who loved her so much he allowed her to create a being to live on the land. She created humanity, the smartest of any creature. However, being born of the sea gave humans a deep, instinctive desire to return.
Of all of her creations, Anthi loved humanity the best, and spent her time creating things for their world. As her children were born, she gave them each dominion over one of the things she created for humanity.
However, her love for humanity made her sister jealous, and the serene Ryshi slowly became the wrathful Kanta. Kanta and her family made the oceans a dangerous place, where humanity would be destroyed. To protect humanity from the wrath of Kanta and her family, Anthi gave her sister power over the ocean's dead. All who died in or on the ocean would be sent to Kanta's domain. This appeased the goddess, and she ruled her domain fairly.
Anthi has counterparts in many other religions. In the Hydaia religion, she is equated with Ivaria, goddess of motherhood. To believers of Eytrozor, she is considered to be one of the three faces of the Lady of the Sea.
Of all the gods of the Arvini religion, Anthi is the most worshipped. Sailors offer her prayers of thanks and appeals for safety before setting out, and most Arvini ships have a shrine to her somewhere on board. It is considered bad luck to not have a symbol or image of Anthi on a ship.
