Formerlly a species of 'mimic snails'- I.e creatures of the snail family that resemble empty shells, that attack unsuspecting prey- these mechanized molluscs Have been retrofitted with limbs made of synthetic chitin, largely for aesthetic reasons. While still very slow, their bladed arms make this once nuisance creature into a far more problematic threat.
