KŌRI Sensory Skills

KŌRI (Magic) extends out from the body and even more so when casting spells. One's Aura can be "weaponized" to act as a 6th Sense or early warning system for Mages and alert them to things such as changes or fluxations in Magical Energy. Especially well-trained Mages can be taught to see the Mage Paths in a person's body and see exactly where they are moving their magic throughout the body. Such a skill can prove to be crucial in battle and decide if you win or lose, live or die. Those who can master it can predict attacks and provide magical counters to spells.

Effect

Users can employ divination, a method of reading the future, the present, and the past, and/or provide help to a problem at hand by using an occultic, standardized process or ritual. Divination can be achieved by communicating with the supernatural (i.e. gods, demons, spirits, nymphs) or by reading certain patterns. In summation Divination allows one to either gain information at the present or from the past/ future via a series of mediums.

Side/Secondary Effects

  • May not affect users of Psychic Shield, Magic Immunity, Psychic Immunity, or Indomitable Will.
  • Weak against Magic Negation/Destruction.
  • The users of Precognitive Immunity.
  • Select methods take time and space for the ritual.
  • May require supernatural aid to correctly predict the future. (Predictions made with beings with a basis to Light/ Dark will be inaccurate)
  • Predictions may be symbolic/opaque or unintelligible.
  • May be random and uncontrollable.
  • Most methods need specific items.

Manifestation

Divination manifests as visions only the Diviner can see and feel, almost as if they are viewing events in real time.

Material Components

Anchors

Like a dog tracking the scent of a sock, Diviners can produce far superior visions if provided with an emotionally charged object or an item closely related to the person/ place/ object in question. They act as a sort of homing beacon and help the Diviner zero in on what they are seeking to find.
Gestures & Ritual

Ceremony

When Divining information, Diviners will perform a sort of ceremony to help them focus and clear their minds of any distractions. Some will perform a religious ritual if they seek guidance from a Celestial body. However, it should be noted that Divination can be influenced by exterior forces, if a Mage is not balanced with their Magic, should they be too far to the Dark or too far to the Light, this will impact their Divination skills.
Applied Restriction
  • The future is in constant motion so attempting to see it is futile
  • Going across vast distances consumes more energy and tires out the Diviner
  • Those who are immune to Magic cannot be found or spied on with Divination
  • Non-magical objects are harder to find
