Jump Drive
Utility
Jump Drives another means of space travel and is usually favored by explorers and bandits (Pirates) for their easy access and short Route Calculation Time (RCT). While larger vessels can be outfitted with a Jump Drive it is ideally used on smaller crafts like Sloops or Star-Fighters with great maneuverability and recovery.
Access & Availability
Jump Drives are extremely common on smaller Star-Ships, they can be found relatively easily on the Black Market. Since they are cleared for civilian use they are also installed on almost all basic Civilian Star Craft.
Complexity
Jump Drives are used by Star Explorers to quickly and easily "jump" to anywhere in the Galaxy via a system of "relay" points. The Star-Ship's onboard SuperComputer will calculate a route to the user's destination through serval relays. The ship will then travel near the Speed of Light (SOL) and punch its way through small weak points in Space-Time. The Route Calculation Time (RCT) for Jump Drives are extremely short, able to be done in under a minute.
One major advantage of using a Jump Drive is its ability to quickly stop its travel to a location if the User decides not to continue their journey, however one major downside is Jump Drives cannot be operated on AutoPilot and must be used manually at all times to avoid an incident.
