Pact

The legally binding vows of the divine

A Clerics divine pact with their god, a Paladins holy Oath they must uphold, a Witch or Warlocks Patron, a self made vow to strike harder, Pacts are never alone in terms of magic, usually being bound to something else, a spell or otherwise.

Manifestation

Pact magic does not directly manifest like the other forms of magic, for it rarely has its own magical form, instead being used as a way for higher beings to grant power through agreements, oaths or similar manners. The most common forms of Pact magic being the powers a Paladin gains from their Oath, or a Cleric with their divine Pact. The powers these Pacts grant are dependant on the nature of the one giving the powers, whether it's Divine, Occult or something else, yet many spellcasters often state that the spells they cast this way feel tightened, like the Pact magic manifesting as immaterial chains and only loosening as much as the granter wants.

In rare cases however, a Pact does not need to be formed between two parties, with instances of someone creating a Pact or Oath with or to themselves, either to uphold something and draw power from within themselves, or to empower themselves in exchange for something else.
