Blacksteel Credit

Or simply just 'Credits' as the residents of Thiriel have come to know.

History

Credits were created initially as an idea by the noble houses of Thiriel, as well as the eternal Lord in Red. As the residents of Thiriel and Crullfield were usually extremely loyal or stuck simply due to work obligations, poverty or other factors, gold became a lot less useful to hand out as opposed to food, housing, or other necessities.

The noble houses concocted an idea and it was to essentially stifle the production of gold coin within Thiriel, keeping its existence but also keeping it scarce, and replacing it with small thin slates of Blacksteel to use as an official currency for Thiriel. The intent was to keep the population of Crullfield especially further in debt and, while making them more wealthy within Thiriel, they were effectively in poverty should they leave the nation.

Credits, while not a full replacement for the gold coin within Thiriel, replaced a large part of their economy over the years. Many Fleshwarp or humans seeking to undergo the process utilize Credits with the doctors and mages who are equipped to do such procedures, and also being used as the currency for the underground "part" markets for Fleshwarps.

They also replace the currency that Thiriel uses for housing and related services, such as taverns and food.

Rarity

A common alternate currency within Thiriel, especially in the capital of Crullfield City, but as their use wanes quickly when out of Thiriel, they are not common elsewhere.

Credits are made in a printing press like the other currencies, but opposed to them being made out of gold, copper or silver they are specifically created with Blacksteel sourced from the Northern Thiriel Mountains or the Fractured Isles Mainland Volcano.
