The Hunter

The Hunter is an enigmatic and legendary figure whose origins trace back to the first Hunter, Nóra Nic Gáibhín. Over time, the legacy of the Hunter has evolved and adapted to the ever-changing world of supernatural threats. Here is the history of the Hunter and the development of their unique order:   The First Hunter: Nóra Nic Gáibhín   The origins of the Hunter can be traced back to the transformation of Nóra Nic Gáibhín, a young woman who narrowly escaped vampirism, thanks to the intervention of an Etherling. Nóra marked the beginning of a new era, becoming the first human to successfully kill a vampire. The Three Pioneering Students:   Liam O'Sullivan One of Nóra's original students, Liam dedicated his life to the Hunter's Lodge. He became the Lodge's leader and ensured its continuity as a bastion against supernatural threats.     Siobhan Callaghan- embarked on a different path, embracing the Way of Purification. Her ideology posited that the world was engulfed in a never-ending inferno of supernatural threats. Her mission was to purify the world by eliminating all creatures that could live within it.     Aiden Sullivan Aiden was driven by a deep sense of justice. He founded the Paladins, a faction of hunters specializing in hunting rogue hunters or groups formed by other hunters. The obsession of some hunters often necessitated intervention.   The Role of the Eitherlings:   Each Hunter possesses a unique connection with an Etherling, spiritual entities that seem to bridge the gap between the natural and supernatural worlds. There's an ongoing debate among hunters as to whether it's a single, shared Etherling or different ones for each Hunter. The truth remains a mystery, as few have returned from the dead to share their experiences.   Obsession and Specialization:   The heart of a Hunter's journey lies in their chosen obsession, often tied to their weapon of choice. This choice shapes the direction of their path and leads to specialization in various aspects such as weaponry, potions, healing, poisons, and more.   Hunters exhibit an extraordinary level of precision and speed due to their constant training and the racing nature of their minds. This often gives them the appearance of being a blur to the average observer.   The Escalation of Obsession:   The obsession of a Hunter deepens and intensifies with time and experience. Fully obsessed Hunters are willing to resort to extreme measures to eliminate supernatural threats. The end justifies the means, and they may be prepared to take drastic actions, even on a grand scale, if it means vanquishing a powerful foe.
