Captain Eliander Fireborn (a.k.a. Bear)
Captain Eliander Fireborn presents an imposing figure standing tall at six foot three with a muscular frame. He walks with a heavy limp on his left side. Glimpses at his ankle provides peeks at a highly polished and engraved wooden peg leg. Despite his disability, he swaggers with confidence that implies he's quite comfortable in command. And based on his salt and pepper hair, he has worn that mantle a long time. Even as he calmly surveys those around him, you can perceive the intensity within him.
Though a veteran of the Keoland army, he's had extensive formal education which embodies his decisions and tactics as well as his temperament. Further, conversing with him discloses his intelligence and education due to his diverse vocabulary and any extended conversation with him reveals that he speaks languages other than common. This gift for understanding other languages helps the town accept him since he readily translates for the various captains and traders that come through Saltmarsh.
Representing the King's interests, his focus rests on law and order while recognizing that the residents have long held unchecked power.
