Councillor Anders Solmor
After the recent death of his mother, Petra, Anders, still a young man of only 20 years, has inherited his family's fleet of fishing boats. In almost no time at all, he made quite successful forays into trade and became a local celebrity because of it. He is the youngest person ever elected to the town council. He is idealistic and advocates emancipation for all lives and actively speaks out against the Sea Princes, whom he believes murdered his mother. Because of his strong business acumen and community spirit, he offers better prices to the fishers in town so that all rise with his success. This rare generosity fuels his celebrity status among the members of the fishing industry.
Anders' vision is to consolidate the individual fishing fleets into a single trading company that will provide equal shares per boat to all fishers and elevate the town in the process by operating together instead of competing against each other. He knows of Councillor Oweland's plans for a new dock and supports the idea as a way to further cooperation between themselves and the rest of the fishers in town.
His constant companion, Skerrin Waverchaser, guides and consults Anders in business, education, and social functions. Anders is rather intelligent, but visibly appreciates the guidance from his trusted confidant as a way to confirm his desired path.

Personal history
Still a young man, Anders was educated in Saltmarsh by his family and their staff, including his butler Skerrin Wavechasher. Heavily influenced by his mother's optimism in a brighter world, his schooling focused more on business information than history.
Mental Trauma
Two years ago his mother died in part due to a raid from the Sea Princes. The Sea Princes attacked the small fishing fleet with him commanding one boat and his mother commanding another. He still sees her being thrown from the deck of a fishing vessel that the Sea Princes commandeered.

Ander's mother Petra was the center of his life and thereby his sense of duty and responsibility comes from her guidance. This desire to live up to her memory influences and directs every decision he makes.

Very savvy in business, but very clueless to cruelties and inequalities of the world. He believes that freedom is the root of happiness. He secretly believes that the Sea Princes somehow brought about his mother's death and hates them enough that he hopes their realm and their slave trade is scoured from the earth.
