Greyhawk 5: Too Much Poop

We journeyed yet again to the Chateau of Count Reichart to further clear the goblins, orcs, and whatever else might stand in our way.
We traveled with little issue after Dax hired a young wizard to identify his sword. We encountered no major issue in our travel, much like other times when we went. Once inside, we headed down toward the basement and were met with the most atrocious smell of excrement and refuse at the bottom of the stairs. While we couldn't figure out what it was, we could see something moving within the putrid awfulness. Dax and Findere tossed me across, then the others tried to get through or over without touching the vile mass, but Findere couldn't not make the jump. I used entangle to ensnare the frenzied rats that attacked Findere as he, quite by accident, invaded their home, and we ended the rats one by one with arrows.
After nearly vomiting all over the floor, we escaped through one of the doorways from this shrine room into a bit of a wine cellar, finding another door and several curious little knickknacks; a flint knife, a piece of charcoal, a coin, a letter with a seal and a vial of clear liquid atop it, and 6 toy soliders labeled as the Swiss Confederation. More things to look into.
We passed through this room into an excavated room, which seemed like it might curve around the shrine room. Dax foolhardily rushed to look into some crates and barrels that were covered in webs, nearly surprised by the spiders on the ceiling above. He quickly dashed the other direction toward a pile of rubble, surprised to find several giant centipedes there.
Rather than battle these creatures on both sides, we decided to retreat and come again more refreshed and perhaps in greater numbers.
