The Covenant of the Seven
Mythology & Lore
In the beginning, there was only chaos and darkness. But then, the Seven were born from the cosmic forces that govern the universe. Each of them embodied a different domain: there was the God of the Knowledge, the Goddess of the Nature, the God of War, the God of the Hunt, the Goddess of Endurance, the God of the Forge, and the Goddess of Travel.
Together, the Seven worked to bring order to the universe. The God of Knowledge sought to unlock the secrets of the universe, while the Goddess of Nature nurtured all living things. The God of War fought against the forces of chaos and destruction, while the God of the Hunt brought nourishment and supplies. The Goddess of Endurance provided strength and resilience in the face of adversity. The God of the Forge brought civilization, while the Goddess of Travel created trade.
Through their combined efforts, the Seven created the world and all living things within it. They imbued their creations with their own powers and virtues, hoping to inspire them to live up to their potential. And to guide their creations, the Seven each chose a champion from among the mortals of the world. These champions became the first priests and priestesses of the Covenant of the Seven, charged with spreading the word of their gods and embodying their virtues in the world.
Over time, the followers of the Covenant of the Seven have come to see the Seven as benevolent deities who created the world and watch over their creations with care and compassion. They believe that by following the virtues of their gods, they too can embody the best qualities of creation and contribute to the ongoing effort to bring order and harmony to the universe.
Divine Origins
This religion was born out of the conquest of Octavia, when Cassius Valtor led his unification of Octavia under the Gryphon Banner. It most likey had to do with the great conquest Cassius and his fellow Gryphon Knights led accross Octavia.
The vairous domains of the pantheon are centered around civilization and conquest. Both things Cassius Valtor brought to Octavia after unifiying it under the Imperium.
Cosmological Views
The Covenant believes in a cyclical view of time, with the universe undergoing repeated cycles of creation and destruction. They see themselves as being in the current cycle, with the ultimate goal of achieving a state of perfect balance and harmony with the Seven and the natural world. They also believe in an afterlife, where the souls of the dead are judged by the Seven and sent to either a realm of eternal bliss or the nine hells, depending on their deeds in life.
