Legend of the All-Father

Summary

The Legend of the All-Father is a tale that the Ancient Evles told about the creation of Auvran. Sadly the knowledge of the ancient elves died with them, only recently being uncovered by modern historians of the Veryian Empire. Breakthroughs of the stories and legends are being made everyday by them. As of today all that is known is that a being named The All-Father created Auvran and the ancient elves.

Historical Basis

The truth of this legend is not in stone. Many belive it to be a story the elves tell their people in their great trees. The historians of the Veryian Empire have confirmed that this was a historical account of the ancient elves, and that from their perspective is how Auvran and its people came to be.

The idea of the legend of the All-Father is widely known as an idea. The whole realm of Auvran knows of the religion of the ancient evles. Although the only widely known information is that the All-Father alone created Auvran and everything inside it. Also he has not taken an active role in the events of Auvran since the days of the acnient elves. The true story of the All-Father and the creation of Auvran has been lost to its poeples.

Variations & Mutation

There are two main variations of this story. The lost version, which is currently being deciphered by histoians of the new Veryian Empire and holds the full events of what happened; As well as the Modern version which knows very little of the situation.

Cultural Reception

Only the High Elves of the Veryian Empire care about this legend. All other cultures follow their own religions and stories. It is broadly recieved as we in our world view Greek Mythology.

In Literature

It is said in each of the great ancient elven cities, were great libraries of all knowledge of the world and everything that flows around it. The ancient elves were the most advanced civilization Auvran has seen. Sadly all of their knowledge was coded in strong magic to protect their knowledge from falling in the wrong hands. So only bits and pieces of this legend are known since the practice of magic is still so new.

In Art

The murals and paintings of the All-Father are all metaphorical. So the people of today cannot use art to help them understand these stories until they understand the metaphors in play. The All-Father is mostly depicted as a great tree. The High elves of today believe this plays into the planning of Mythelserin's building, as the city is built in layers around a great tree in the center of the city.
