In the Daynean culture, artists hold a special place. Not only do they create amazing works of art and reinterpret the world and it's parts as they are known, but also make something that immortalizes culture, stories, something that fuels people's faith, souls and desires. For this, artists are often well known, appreciated by people and very well paid for their works of art. While they work for hire or travel, many of them work at their local Theather.

Becoming an artist:

Whenever a musician, writer, painter or a sculptor, to become one is a long and hard journey. An artist's journey starts at a young age, when they become a student of a master of one of the arts. The masters only chose those with passion and desire to devote their life to the craft.

From that moment begins a long journey of learning and mastering the craft. Masters tend to be harsh and unforgiving, making the learning process a nightmare, which only a few manage to push through.

Once a student proves their abilities, their master starts displaying their works of art along with his own, getting the attention of the locals to the new artist. Once the master finishes teaching their student, they are left on their own to make a name for themselves.

Types of artists:

Musician:

Musicians are masters of instruments and/ or their voice. They travel the world, acting out all sorts of performances, whenever on the streets, at parties or in temples. They are an essential part of any event, getting everyone's mood to the right place. However, because their art is one of the easiest to learn, they often don't get paid that well.

Writer:

Writers are masters of the written word, whenever through poems or long stories, they both entertain and educate. They are essential for immortalizing stories and history, but unfortunately, due to a lack of printers, they are limited to one book at a time and often don't get recognized. However, they are the most well paid artists.
Payment: Their books are most commonly bought by collectors or temples, which pay from 250 up to 2 500 arreum plates per book. (Currencies)

Painter:

Painter are visual master of the canvas. They are most commonly commissioned by the local temples to create paintings of various types and sizes. Thanks to this, painters are well known and appreciate by the brought public, who sometimes commission paintings for their homes. While some painter buy paint, most make their own, which add a layer of uniqueness to their works, which can also add to the price of their works.
Payment: Cost of their works highly depends on the size, quality and the artist, but they often go for, from 50 up to 1 000 arreum plates per piece. (Currencies)

Sculptor:

Sculptors are master of the stone and tools which they shape it with. Some work with wood, some with stone and some even metal, depending on the request. Same as painter, they are most commonly commissioned by their local temples to creates sculptures of various shapes and sizes.

They are also well known and appreciated by the brought public, who tend to commission small wooden sculptures, as they are the cheapest.
Payment: Costs of their work highly depends on the size, material used and quality, but they often go for, from 50 up to 25 000 arreum plates per piece. (Currencies)

Performers

Performers are dancers, actors or even some singers. They are masters of artistic expression through their bodies and voice. Some travel the world an d act out performancer for patment or on the streets, but most join their local Theather.
Their art is one of the harder to learn, as it requires good acting, voice and sometimes looks or even the willingness to act out uncomfortable or weird scenes. Despite the difficulty of the job, they are often payed depending on the money from the audience or from the rich people who hired them, which is not as much as other artists get payed.

Starving artists:

While successful artists find fame and fortune in their passion, those who are self taught, whenever because they couldn't handle the harsh nature of learning from a master or couldn't get to a master at all, more often than not fail and have to survive on the little they earn from their work.

More and more young people try an walk this path, only to find disappointment, failure and poverty. Only a few ever manage to climb into success, which requires a tremendous amount of work and sacrifice.
