The Crimson Horde

The Crimson Horde, or sometimes simply the Horde, is a large army of orcs that has recently descended from the Arrowpeaks into the kingdom of Millaria. Both unusually organized and extremely violent, the mysterious group has so far attacked any who approach or are spotted by them, and few of those who encounter them survive. However, as more and more have descended, stories have spread of their brutality and numbers.
Indistinguishable from regular orcs, arrival of the Crimson Horde was preceded by a migration of orcs and other mountain dwellers out of the western Arrowpeaks and Thorund's Branch, mostly through Millaria. Though most of these avoided contact with locals while passing through, rumors quickly spread they were fleeing a powerful force in the mountains. When the Horde began appearing in the Fingers, the large valleys in Millaria's southeast, it didn't take long for people there and throughout Upper Millaria to start to flee as well.
The Horde has shown itself to coordinate shockingly well, spreading from the Fingers out across the mountainous edges of Upper Millaria and leaving destruction in their wake, only coming together in large groups just when the kingdom pulls togther a large enough force to face them. Though the armies of Millaria have held their own so far, panic has been spreading throughout the kingdom and the flow of gold that had brought the kingdom great wealth has declined severely.
Reports from survivors of their attacks tell of unusual behavior from the orcs of the Crimson Horde. They do not loot, coerce, flee or negotiate. Bodies of those they slay are often found partially consumed, apparently raw and where they fell. They can withstand even the most extreme pain without caving, and when soldiers have managed to capture them they do not flinch under even the most excrutiating torture. They seem to desire nothing but to kill, and tend to be much better at it than the typical orc or human.
