Sigistra

Sigistra is a large island off the north coast of Obseron, just beyond the mouth of The Placid Sea. The densely forested island is known for its breathtaking and nearly alien beauty, with massive trees forming a ceiling over plains of moss, grasses too tall to see over, and exotic fauna such as giant insects, flightless birds, and armored beasts. Colossal ruins dot the landscape, often visible from the island's shores, their origins unknown.
The islands few residents live in small fishing villages along the shore or in scattered tribal communities further inland. In addition to humans, halflings, gnomes, kobolds, and trolls are quite common, the latter posing enough danger to travelers that few passing ships are willing to stop on the islands shores. The western end of the island is home to a massive active volcano, inhabited by fire giants.
