Borian
The capital of the kingdom of Millaria, Borian is a city of fabulous wealth. Within its walls sits a massive gold refinery owned by the king, whose well enforced monopoly on smelting forces all gold ore gathered in the kingdom's hinterlands here to be processed. Since their rise after the collapse of the Aurean Empire, the kingdom's rulers have used their wealth in a very visible manner, and massive, often gaudy monuments, huge statues, and impressive architecture adorn the city. The great wealth flowing from here attracts all manner of travelers, mechants, artists, and adventurers, who all add to the cities vibrant atmosphere.
Part of the Aurean Empire for most of its history, the city was founded in 2916 AY, while the empire was taking control of the region. It became the capital of the province of Upper Millaria, and then the kingdom of Millaria after the empire lost conrol of the area in 4835 AY.
