Element of the Void

The element of the void was only recently understood to be its own element. For thousands of years the void element was believed to be the absence of Oas rather than an element of its own. Elementine with Void in their soul maps were seen as having an emptiness in their soul, or to be broken in some way. These elementine were labeled Oasnyr and either cast out or sheltered, depending on their situation.
Once it was accepted that the element of the void was not a lack of Oas and was instead an element of its own, the element was explored further. Much like the shadow cast by something blocking a light, Void is both a part of Oas and in direct opposition to it. Interestingly, the opposition of Radiance appears to be a very similar void element, and Void reacts to Radiance in very similar ways as it reacts to Oas. Void manifests as living darkness and embodies the darkest nature of each element of Oabos.

We did not understand our mistake until the humans came. The humans are begins with no Oas. Instead they are flooded with the twisted golden light that brought them here. The Void elementine are not lacking Oas. Not like the humans. This realization may have come too late, however. After thousands of years casting out the Oasnyr there is a resentment that has developed. Now we fight on two fronts; against the humans who wish to destroy us all, and the Oasnyr who gathered in the darkest areas of the world and have every reason to happily see us destroyed.
