Element of the Ground

One of the first elements discovered was the element of the ground, so named because it seems to encompass all inorganic things which make up the physical world of Oabos. In a word, this element could more correctly have been named Mineral. However, despite it being one of the first elements discovered, there are still many things that are not fully understood about the element of the ground. Now that soul rings are being discovered with multiple elements, this gap in knowledge only seems to continue growing.
The element of the ground is perseverance regardless of form. it is the mountains standing against time and the stone crushed to sand by relentless waves. It is the soft dirt that cradles growing plants and the prismem crystal that contains the magma flows throughout the planet. Raw stone, shimmering gems, metallic ores, coarse sands, and soft dirt. The element of the ground comes in many forms for many purposes, but it remains consistent to purpose above all else.

Surprisingly, the humans seem to have a good understanding on the Ground and simply call it something else. They refer to theis element as "Earth" and seem to have a concept of this element from their home world. The greatest misconception they have is that many also consider the element of vegitation to be a part of Earth, and that any elementine with a connection to ground can also inherently grow and control plants of all kinds. While we do not know how they came to this conclusion, it can be a very useful tool when fighting them.

Early Manifestations

The earliest manifestations of the element of the ground were what are now known as mineral beasts. These are creatures made purely of rock, dirt, metal, or crystal which are able to move around under their own control and which respond to changes in their surroundings. The most common of these mineral beasts were boulders which rolled around and formed patterns in fallen mountain rocks.

The element of the ground can manifest quite differently across individuals and in different rings of the soul map. There are some traits which tend to remain consistent across most individuals.
Having the element of the ground in the mind ring tends to produce individuals who are very committed to their goals and ideals. These individuals are not easily changed from the path they have set themselves on, for better or for worse. It can take a long time for them to accept a change or new information in conflict to what they believe. It is just as hard to sway them with charismatic words in an effort to lead them away from their path. As such, ground minds tend to be resistant to external manipulation. Ground mind individuals also tend to fall into very protective roles. This can be from a nurturing perspective, or physical protection.
Having the element of the ground in the body ring can show in several different ways. The most common way for it to show is a physically strong looking body that appears to be made of some form of rock. Some individuals will have stone instead of skin, while others may be made up entirely of stone in a humanoid shape. Some individuals with the element of the ground have had spikes of prismem that grow out from their skin. Others have been seen with very humanoid forms, save for veins of metal or gems in their skin.
How the element of the ground manifests in the spirit ring depends mostly on its relative positioning. Being closely aligned with the mind ring tens to lead to individuals with extensive control over the element through their thoughts alone. The further away from the mind element alignment the more likely other motions, words, or tools could be needed to control and guide the manifestation. For example, two individuals who could grow stone-like armor on their bodies might differ in one being able to grow the armor with a thought while the other might need to use their hand to guide the ability and focus it in the right area.
How closely aligned the body and spirit rings are determine how the element manifests in relation to themself. A close alignment typically leads to a manifested ability to effect their own body. This would include the creation of stone armor, reenforcing the body, or becoming immovable. If they are not aligned the ability tends to manifest as external manipulation of the element. A few examples of externally manifested ground spirit are the ability to change the state of the ground, moving rocks without physical force, and the creation of fertile soil from dead fields by letting dead plants fall into the ground and crushing it all up.
