South Solomon University
South Solomon University is a well-known Ivy League institution located near the swamps of Louisiana. The subjects covered at the university are vast from history, archaeology, anthropology, and sociology to occultism, linguistics, religious studies, and economics. Elective courses range from fencing to painting and there are even some eclectic courses - such as wilderness survival and astrology - taught by some of the more eccentric professors. The school is known for being progressive, allowing students of all colors, genders, and ages attend for the betterment of education.
South Solomon University is known for funding or leading research projects into the strange sciences and cosmological forensics. Before graduation, students under seeking their doctorates must conduct a research project of their own (or in groups) and write compelling dissertations on subjects the school doesn't easily have access to. These research projects are typically funded by the university after the students prepare compelling pitches to the administration. South Solomon University has funded bizarre projects, including "Predicting the Migration of Sparrows using Lunar Cycles," "17 Health Benefits of Cyanide," and "Homeownership and Hauntings: How Burial Grounds Make for Poor Land Development."
South Solomon has a strange history and most of it tends to be quiet. The university was purportedly started at the same time Madison City was founded by the City Council. The next hundred years is vague and many of the records of students and staff were lost after a fire destroyed the records hall some decades ago. None now live that know the true history of the university.
South Solomon University is overseen by the Chancellor, a position held almost exclusively by former students. The current Chancellor is Stefan Tremaine.
