Human
Humans, or homo sapiens, are the dominant species in the galaxy, also being the only known example of sentient, intelligent life in the galaxy. Due to this they now have a hegemonic control over the galaxy, although they have split themselves up amongst multiple ethnic groups as well as states, breaking up their ability to be a unified force.

Genetics and Reproduction
Humans reproduce sexually, after which there is a nine month gestation period after which a small human, referred to as a baby, is born.
Growth Rate & Stages
Humans are considered to be babies or infants after they are born until they reach the age of 1, at which point they are considered children until the age of about 13. After that, they are considered teenagers until the age of 20, when they are finally considered to be adults. At around the age of 50, humans begin to be considered seniors, or individuals of advanced age, which doesn't really change until the human dies.
Ecology and Habitats
Humans can exist in a variety of ecosystems and habitats, as long as the temperature is regularly between 0 and 30 degrees centigrade, the is an oxygen atmosphere of at least 1/3 that of earth's atmosphere, and there is food that is suitable for the human to consume.

This depends on the culture, but the base of human culture tends to be that of the family, whether it be biological or not, with other social connections being formed with people that they are not related to, commonly referred to as "friends."
