Guide to Thralls: Professions, Tiers, Specializations and Locations

Thralls have a variety of uses. Most can be visually identified from a distance by what they are holding, e.g. bow is an archer, sword and shield is a fighter. Thralls placed at a crafting station often provide unique or high-grade recipes. Subsequent additions of Crafting stations, such as the Fermentation Barrel and the Saddler's Worktable allow placement of some professions with their accompanied bonuses. Visit the various profession or thrall page to see which profession can be useful in a particular Crafting station.

  • High-tier camps have T5-9 Fighter and Officer thralls and Crafter thralls, as well as bosses in some cases.
  • Profession Thralls: Brewer, Chef, Farmer, Fisherman, Lumberjack, Miner, Skinner
  • Crafter Thralls: Alchemist, Blacksmith, Enchanter, Haggler, Jeweler, Keeper, Peasant, Smelter, Taskmaster, Worker, Entertainer.
  • Below is a list of possible thrall spawns for each of the AoC Faction Camps
    Stormhold Camps:
  • Location: G-3, Thrall Types: 5x T1-2 Fighter, 1x Profession. *Patrols to the south.
  • Location: B-6, Thrall Types: 6x T1-2 Fighter, 1x Profession. *Patrols north into Sepermeru.
  • Location: B-6, Thrall Types: 7x T1-2 Fighter, 13x T5 Fighter, 1x T6-9 Officer, 1x Crafter. *This camp also contains the Mineral Trader at the top floor of the southwest Stormhold tower.
  • Location: G-7, Thrall Types: 2x Stormhold Soldier. *This camp is unique in that the thralls aren't randomized between T5s, but are always 2 Stormhold Soldiers. This is the ideal spot to get your first AoC combat thrall.
  • Location: M-7, Thrall Types: 12x T5 Fighter, 1x T6-9 Officer, 1x Crafter. *Also at this camp is the NPC George McWillan, who sells the Specialty Farming book for 37 Copper Coin, which unlocks additional seeds at the Ingedients Vendor.
  • Location: E-5, Thrall Types: 15x T5 Fighter, 2x T6-9 Officer, 1x Crafter. *Camilla Redwood is in one of the huts here, she sells the Certificate of Exotic Aniumals for 15 Copper Coin, which is needed to purchase some items from the Shepherd.
  • Cold Embrace Camps:
  • Location: L-5, Thrall Types: 6x T1-2 Fighter, 1x Profession. *Patrols along the beach. Camp is aggressive.
  • Location: K-4, Thrall Types: 5x T5 Fighter, 1x T6-9 Officer, 1x Crafter. *Inside the Sandswept Ruins. Necromancer Felakai Rotheart is here as well, who teaches the Demonic Blood Eyes face customization. Camp is aggressive.
  • Location: C-5, Thrall Types: Many T5 Fighter, 2x T6-9 Officer, 3x Crafter, 5x Sanguis, Many Frost Hound, 1x Zynarus, Margath, Eliza Cole. *The undead Zynarus serves as a scout, if it is aggroed it will call for help from the whole camp. Avoid it to be able to pull smaller groups. The Tower Key can be found on a crate on the lower level or on a gravestone. Eliza Cole has the Sanguine Relic, and she can be captured as a Taskmaster thrall. Camp is aggressive.
  • Vanghoul Camps:
  • Location: G-4, Thrall Types: 3x T1-2 Fighter, 1x Profession, 1x Blood Hound. *The Blood Hound at this camp is the same as the ones at the higher level camps, with 3,500 HP. Camp is aggressive.
  • Location: M-8, Thrall Types: 8x T5 Fighter, 1x T6-9 Officer, 1x Crafter, 3x Blood Hound. *Extremely fast attack speed on the Vanghoul claw attacks makes this camp harder than comparably sized camps from other factions. Camp is aggressive.
  • Location: D-5, Thrall Types: 10x T5 Fighter, 4x Grunt, Gathon Bloodfist. *Gathon Bloodfist has the Storm Relic. Camp is aggressive.
  • Location: J-7, Thrall Types: Many T5 Fighter, 3x T6-9 Officer, 3x Crafter, 2x Profession, Many Grunt, Many Blood Hound, Nekada Bloodfist. *Blood Hounds serve as scouts, aggroing them will cause them to call for help at long range. Avoid them to pull smaller groups. A skeleton key is needed for the prison tower with profession thralls. Nekada Bloodfist has the Fury Relic. Grunts cannot be taken as thralls. Camp is aggressive. ALSO *Just NE of Nekada's Foothold there are 5 Grunts that can be fought on their own. Very useful for the Stormhold sub-faction quest, which requires 10 Heart of a Vanghoul, harvested from Grunts with a cleaver. Cannot be taken as thralls. Camp is aggressive.
  • Location: M-6, Thrall Types: 6x Grunt. *Another great source of Grunts for Heart of a Vanghoul, they are just west of the Descent of Dagon. Cannot be taken as thralls. Camp is aggressive.
  • Felgarth & Elvanor Camps:
  • Location: H-6, Thrall Types: 7x T1-2 Fighter, 2x Profession. *The Felgarth and Elvanor are separated far enough here that you can attack one group without aggroing the other. Each has one profession thrall.
  • Location: D-6, Thrall Types: 9x T5 Fighter, 2x T6-9 Officer, 2x Crafter. *This is a great camp for getting crafters. There's one right at the entrance and they are spread out enough that you only aggro some of the camp when attacking it. Officer and crafter spots are one Felgarth, one Elvanor each.
  • Location: C-12, Thrall Types: 10x T5 Fighter, 2x T6-9 Officer, 2x Crafter, 1x Child of Zevarus. *Child of Zevarus serves as a scout and if aggroed will alert the whole camp. Use crates to block line of sight. This camp is also the location of the Air Shrine.
  • Elven Covenant Camps:
  • Location: H-6, Thrall Types: 4x T1-2 Fighter, 2x Profession, 1x White Tiger Boss. *These thralls can be hard to find, most are crouched in bushes. A vanilla white tiger boss is patrolling nearby, if alerted it will aggro the whole camp as well.
  • Location: M-6, Thrall Types: 6x T5 Fighter. *Just fighters, guarding the root bridge to the Descent of Dagon.
  • Location: L-8, Thrall Types: 12x T5 Fighter, 1x T6-9 Officer, 3x Crafter, Malagan The Celestial. *Malagan the Celestial will aggro the player on sight, causing all the other Covenant thralls in range to aggro as well.
  • Location: D-14, Thrall Types: 4x T5 Fighter, Alyssa Mirth. *Don't follow the map pin, they are located in the lower level of The Temple of Frost, in the room under the Frost Temple Smithy with the White Dragon. Heart of an Elf can be looted from Alyssa Mirth for the Vanghoul sub-faction quest.
  • Location: E-6, Thrall Types: 10x T5 Fighter, 1x T6-9 Officer, 1x Crafter, Ashira The Ethereal. *Ashira the Ethereal will aggro the player on sight, causing all the other Covenant thralls in range to aggro as well.
  • Shadaerion Camps:
  • Location: G-7, Thrall Types: 7x T5 Fighter, 2x T6-9 Officer, 1x Crafter, Shenarah Alury. *Shenarah Alury has the Midnight Relic. Also at this camp is Kharissa Demont, who sells the Tome of Nature Ascension Vol. 2 for 20 Star Metal Ore, 10 Black Lotus Flower and 25 Firebloom.
  • Location: G-10, Thrall Types: 10x T5 Fighter, 1x T6-9 Officer, 1x Crafter. *This camp is split into 2 groups with the officer and crafter on the south side. It's possible to pull the south group without aggroing the rest if you pull them from their south.

    Thrall - Tiers & Specializations

  • Every crafting thrall profession has 4 different levels, or tiers, identified with a I, II, or III at the end of their name, with tier 4 thralls being uniquely named. The exceptions are priests (Priest, High Priest and Archpriest) and Taskmasters from Sepermeru (Journeyman, Apprentice, Master).
  • Thralls affect crafting speeds, resource requirements and fuel usage when placed at a workstation, depending on their specialization and tier. Tier 3 and 4 Thralls, when placed at their corresponding workstations, can grant access to additional crafting recipes or exceptional/flawless variants of equipment. Archer and Fighter thralls will have more health and armor based on their tier. Damage is based on the weapon they use and their corresponding attribute, Accuracy or Strength.
