Adamantine Wings
Overview
The Adamantine Wings is a subdivision of the Adamantine Wayfinders, serving as aerial scouts and support of Wayfinder operations in the Outer Wilds.
It is primarily made up of Aarakocra clans that have been devoted to the Wayfinder cause since the days of Haim Edera.
Clan Earrac, Clan Torekki, Clan Kekar, and Clan Arkah are the primary clans of the Adamantine Wings. A fifth clan, Clan Qaruta was once a major clan within the order, but they departed Novus shortly after Haim Edera's death, believing that they could have a chance at recolonizing Vespala by living a nomadic lifestyle beyond the city. Clan Qaruta has not been seen since.
The Adamantine Wings has a handful of airships at its disposal. Airship technology is expensive to maintain and can be limiting out in the wilds. These ship are only deployed when an operation would call for it.
Adamantine Wings members serve the important duty of scouting ahead, providing essential information to Wayfinder squads about what dangers to anticipate.
In large scale operations, squad of Aarakocra lead the charge, using signals to direct the formations of Wayfinders. In small scale operations, the Wings may station a handful of scouts with a land based squad to act as the airborne eyes and ears of the group.
Theoretically membership within the ranks is open to any, however non-Aarokocra are very small minority within the ranks, including artificers and wizards who have outfitted themselves with flying technology.
