General Summary

The group travels along the watered path following the flood. They come to a large expanse that presents a large canyon on the left side of their path and a large lake on their right. In the middle is a land bridge that opens up to a forest. As the crew approaches, they meet two groups, the Karuso's and the Denizen's. They fight over who will be guided by the hired Monk protector. William convinces the leader of the Karuso clan to trail the Denizens. When they have traveled about half a day, they are stopped by some bandits. Leader Karuso is shot in the arm as he steps up to the three bandits that have halted their travel.
