Birth of the Kindred

????

And in the midst of this garden the Archenlord stood and began to form something, not of song and word, but of their own hands.

Once all was made whole and Matarros flowered with life, The Ancients looked, but could find no hint of the spirit in any of the creatures, not in those who swam in the seas, nor in those who flew in the air, nor in those who walked upon the earth. Though many creatures were proud, many were wise, and others cunning, none held the spark of the Archenlord's spirit.   So they looked to the Archenlord and asked, "but where are they of whom you spoke, the children of the Archenlord, who would bear your likeness and hold your spirit?"   "The bearing of such," the Archenlord replied, "we shall not sing, but will craft with our own hands." So the Archenlord instructed the Ancients to produce a garden in the center of Matarros, a rich and blessed place, nestled in a mist-cloaked valley. And in the midst of this garden the Archenlord stood and began to form something, not of song and word, but of their own hands.   "He shall be strong like the root of the mountains," the Father proclaimed, adding stone from the heart of the earth to the construction.   "He shall be fruitful like the soil," the Mother proclaimed, adding soft, dark soil to the construction.   "He shall be humble like the dust," the Son proclaimed, adding dry dust to the construction.   When they had finished construction, the Mother blew into the nostrils of the earthen construction, and it came to life, now bearing the spirit of the Archenlord. And all the Hosts of the Ancients cheered at the making of the Archenlord's child, one whom had the spirit of the Archenlord. And the Archenlord called the creature Artas, and walked with him in the mist-cloaked valley.   From Artas and for him the Archenlord made a mate, a woman named Etlan. And the Archenlord commanded them to be fruitful and have children of their own that too would have in them the spirit of the Archenlord. So Artas and Etlan had children.   First they bore a set of twins named Rigus and Rein. These were tall and strong, like the stone of the mountains, the parents of the giant kin. Then came Manus and Marro. These were the forebears of the manuar, men. Finally came Kolbin and Kel, the parentage of the dwarves. These are the three families of The Kindred Peoples. The families of the Kindred dwelt together in peace in the mist-cloaked vale.
