The Giants

"He shall be strong like the root of the mountains," proclaimed the Father, adding stone from the heart of the earth to the construction.   The giants or, Rugazi, are the descendants of Rigus and Rein, the first born of Artas and Etlan. They are now known as part of one of a few distinct families that have survived the Sundering.   The giants are the descendants of the first born and are often seen like the first born child in any relationship. They are often seen as serious and severe (though they can be free-spirited and lighthearted). They are often seen as condescending, looking down (both literally and figuratively at the smaller Kindred.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Giants are not unlike men save in their great size and strength. Giants of old were said to be as tall as fifteen feet but most that live today are no taller than nine feet. Different giant families can have unique visual features.

Genetics and Reproduction

Giants reproduce just the same as men do.

Growth Rate & Stages

Giants begin life only slightly larger than the average human baby. If you saw one in the arms of a human woman, you might just think they were destined to be a linebacker. Their growth is about as fast as that of a human save that when a human stops principal growth around age fifteen, the giant keeps growing into their twentieth year and sometimes longer. Giants tend to live a little longer than men, often reaching a century if they lived healthy lives.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Generally speaking, giants are omnivores.

Additional Information

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Giants have spread all over Nov Matar in their various families.

Average Intelligence

Giants are very intelligent even though they are often stereotyped as lumbering idiots.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

In general, giants do not have any unique senses. Many say, though, that, due to their increased height, they have weaker senses, not that their eyes and ears are not as good, but that they are so much higher off the ground. Giants, of course, think this is ridiculous.
