Fiercely talented, with a knack for making terrifying decisions when at the helm that nonetheless pay off handsomely, Kelvar may be one of the finest seamen among the noble families of Waterdeep - so much so that he is wholly loathe to give up sailing ships even though he is Lord. This results in him being away from Waterdeep about half of the year. Ranya Helmfast: Consort (Rank 9) • 33 years. Well-regarded, Ranya married into the House from another sea-going family: House Adarbrent. Though she married young, she took to being the wife of the sea-farer with aplomb, and though she has never been a particularly social noble, her sense of austerity and coin-consciousness has been a genuine benefit to House Helmfast. She is grieving the recent loss of one of her best friends, Amyra Silmerhelve. Edwind Helmfast: Heir Presumptive (Rank 0) • 14 years. A young man, Edwind has been accompanying his father on his shipping voyages for two years now, and is quite the deckhand. He has also been learning swordplay from Kelvar's first mate. Tundis Helmfast: Regent (Rank 6) • Patriarch's Brother • 28 years. Cautious where his older brother is daring, Tundis oversees most of the family's ship-making operations (though he himself is not a craftsman). When Kelvar is gone, he and Ranya run the House affairs quite capably. Unlike Ranya, Tundis does make social appearances, where he has a bit of a reputation as a hopeless romantic.
