Nosferia

Towering cathedral-like castles with blood red stained glass windows lord over villages and cities. Stormy clouds hang overhead perpetuated through the day by powerful magics that allow for the creatures of the night to walk amongst the living without exposure to sunlight. Courts are held to maintain Vampire rule in this nation where they have brought order and peace to an otherwise chaotic world. It is not a blood drenched horror where the unturned who provide nourishment for vampire-kind are mere cattle. The unturned go about their daily lives without fear of being snatched away or butchered. Blood taxes are instituted to maintain a steady supply of food for vampires, and only those who break the severest of laws need fear of being drained. Still, it is not a perfect society. Many of the vampires in power, in spite of their emperor’s policy, view the unturned as livestock and regularly treat them as second class citizens. It is a delicately balanced society wherein the just and unjust live and rule. This is Nosferia. The Empire of Nosferia was once a collective of regions and kingdoms that for hundreds of years were controlled by Human, Dwarven, and Orcish governments. A revolution began that was led by a powerful vampire lord named Invictus Argol who had United most of the major vampire clans in an effort to bring order to what he believed to be a chaotic continent. Argol lead his forces against the Faiths and governments of the kingdoms and after decades of bloody war, brought the kingdoms to heel and instituted a vampire controlled state. Rather than wipe out the various peoples who resided within the kingdoms or domesticate them as livestock, Invictus and his council chose to allow the other non vampire people’s to live their lives provided that they answer to the vampires now in power. The Empire of Nosferia came about in what Argol and his council referred to as a noble and merciful conquest.
