The Steelburn Settlement
Whilst the Vuuding Deserts are a largely inhospitable place, one settlement by the name of Steelburn exists on the outskirts that spends their time mining the desert for minerals which they trade with large countries such as Xarith. The settlement is largely adults, children being sent to live with relatives in other countries to avoid the harsh climate, and all are built strong and able to withstand periods of time in the dry arid wasteland.
Those who reside in Steelburn do so from choice, and many are advised against going by family and friends for fear of what may happen. The death rates are high, but all carry out the work with knowledge that they are helping to bring the sorely needed minerals from the land to the rest of the world. They live to the North of Kreubert and spend long hours every day mining the desert. The residents take turns to transport the minerals once a week by boat to Xarith, where from it is then distributed, and the cycle begins again.
Demographics
The population is entirely adults, with any children being sent to live in other countries to avoid the harsh climate. Some do return to carry on their parent's work when they have grown but unfortunately not all of their parents are alive to see them return.
Geography
Located to the North of Kreubert, the Steelburn settlemnt is home to the dry arid climate of the Vuuding Desert. Those who reside there aim to spend as much time as they can mining the lands but often many are killed in the process either from the heat or the monsters that also live alongside them.
Whilst the views of the desert are glorious, the climate makes surviving difficult, without factoring in the dangerous beasts that also live there.
Natural Resources
Minerals from the land of the Vuuding Deserts are collected daily by those who live in the settlement, and shipped away to Xarith once weekly.
