Bushena's Rest

Bushena's Rest is a large tower on the North Eastern side of Xarith. Not only home to the celestial ruler, it also is the place for grand ceremonies such as promotions in ranks for Paladins of the Goldenroses.   All ceremonies held in the grand rooms have space for audience members, and are generally performed by Bushena herself. The Goddess lives in the rooms atop the grand tower, but below her reside the top Generals of the Goldenroses, when they are not away dealing justice. At all times there are at least five Generals in residence, and any who try to breach the defences are met with quick ends.

Purpose / Function

Bushena's Rest was once held by Lianeous, back in the dark days of dismay. During this time it was known as simply The Tower, which some still use now. When Lianeous ruled, she did so from the tower, looking over the lands, ensuring all who lived did so painfully.   Once Bushena defeated Lianeous, she quickly took over residence and the building was renamed to Bushena's Rest, in the hope that the Goddess would be content with her new home. The Generals of the Goldenroses initially had residence in a guard tower nearby, but Bushena recognised the potential need for early protection and ordered their quarters be moved to below her own.   The building now, alongside being a place of residence, is used as a ceremonial hall. Here Paladins who are members of the Goldenroses (or those who become so) are anointed and promoted within the ranks. It is also a place for grandiose weddings and funerals of great worshippers, and for one to have either in Bushena's Rest is seen as a great honour.

Alterations

Bushena's Rest remains what it was when Lianeous held rule over Northmarsh. No changes have been made to the building itself aside from the name from The Tower to Bushena's Rest and the stained glass windows design, which now depict the tale of the great war.

Architecture

The tower was built from stone, its structure reinforced by magical spells. The windows are great stained glass masterpieces, the only changes having happened after the great war between the goddesses to depict Bushena's victory and remember the great warrior that was Jyana Crosslinks who assisted slaying the beasts that guarded Lianeous herself.

History

Known originally as simply The Tower, Bushena's Rest was originally created in the days of the Era of Dismay when Lianeous ruled over Northmarsh. Then the tower was used for ceremonies of a darker nature, beheading of treacherous commoners, and great duels to the death in the honour of Lianeous as a form of sport.   After Bushena bested Lianeous in battle and banished her to the celestial planes, the Goddess of Hope took an oath that no blood would be shed within the walls again. This has remained the case now for over 300 years, and Bushena now resides in the tower with at least five of her Generals at all times.
