Glacid

Glacids are wolf-like mammals that live in the North Side of Galilea. They can be found in mountainous regions of Dustbane or forests, but often live in the city.
Glacids were brought to Earth from Quadrilore as they make great companions to people. They are much more sentient than the canids of Earth, but not on the level of humans and humanoids.

Genetics and Reproduction

Glacids mate for life, but only reproduce in the winter. The female will carry the cub for about 3 months before giving birth. Both parents often take it in turns to look after their cub until the cub is ready to face the world by itself.

Behaviour

Glacids are solitary animals, but are quite loyal to members of their species. They are also very playful and observant, especially around people and other animals. They are also known to howl a lot, especially in January. While they are great company, people must remember that Glacids can freeze a person if no-one is careful.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Glacids can echolocate by emitting low-pitched howls into the atmosphere, because they are used to living in vast mountainous regions. It is also thought that they have Cryokinesis, but this is limited to moving ice and freezing objects with their breath and howls.
