Snotlout Jorgenson
Snotlout Jorgenson (a.k.a. Lout, Sir Ulgerthorpe, Master of Awesome, The Snot, Snotman, Little Man, Annoying Narrator, Boulder Boy, Notlout, Snotters, Lunatic)
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Snotlout looked somewhat muscular. He has a few orange-red scales, the tail, wings and claws of a Monstrous Nightmare.
Special abilities
Endurance and Stamina: Snotlout's stamina and endurance have proven to be very high. He still came out fine after being hit in the face by a rock or bitten multiple times by his Terror, Pain. Another example of this is when he was crushed by Meatlug and her rather heavy rider.
Strength and Fighting Skills: Snotlout has proven to be the strongest of the Riders. He can lift heavy objects, like a sheep over his shoulder, and even manage to run with it. He was also able to pin Hookfang's horns to the ground and clamp a Monstrous Nightmare's mouth shut. He was seen pulling small trees out of the ground and then throwing them. Additionally, he appears to have enhanced strength as he sends an Outcast soldier flying several feet away with a single kick and appears to be skilled in combat as he easily beats Savage with a connecting rod, as well as besting multiple Outcast soldiers in hand-to-hand combat He can also easily take on multiple Berserkers with minimal effort. However, when distracted he is occasionally defeated by much weaker opponents, such as Terrible Terrors and sheep.
Speed and Acrobatics: Snotlout has good reflexes, being able to dodge the attacks of enemies and being the only one who could hold his balance on a running log. He can also manage to balance himself by standing on Hookfang's neck. Snotlout was able to preform amazing acrobatic stunts when he sprinted across the forest to avoid Razorwhips.
Accuracy: Snotlout is seen throwing axes at targets with great accuracy, even without looking. And he used this ability once again by throwing Pain to save Meatlug. He also has skills with a bow and arrow similar to the others.
Teaching: When Snotlout had become convinced he was going to die, he planned to recruit Gustav so he could be his successor. Thanks to Snotlout, Gustav bonded with his own dragon. Snotlout encouraged Gustav in the battle with Dagur and his soldiers, causing their mission to succeed.
Dragon Training and Riding: Snotlout managed to train the most stubborn and aggressive dragon, and has seen Hookfang through to the end despite remaining the most disobedient dragon. The Terrible Terror he trained constantly bit him, though Snotlout claimed that is what he was taught, and this proved useful when Pain used his jaw strength to save Meatlug from the Outcasts. He also found out you can calm down Monstrous Nightmares by pinning their horns to the ground, showing he does know what he's doing. Seeing how Hookfang flew almost as fast as Toothless, it is possible Hookfang's speed increased as a result of Snotlout's training. Snotlout also figured out a powerful combination attack, using Hookfang's Wing Blast and his breath weapon. This attack was used against Dagur the Deranged and his soldiers.
Climbing: Just like Hookfang, he has shown to be a great climber.
Intelligence and Inventing: He is not the brightest compared to Hiccup, Fishlegs, and Astrid but he does his best to try to be smart, often times, as he shows himself to be smarter than the Twins. This is made apparent when he told Hiccup that Toothless didn't want Hiccup to interfere with the battle of his archnemesis, a Whispering Death. He managed to build a raft but wasn't successful as it sank a few seconds after he got on it. He even knew that without a level playing field, the trainers will never know who the best is at training dragons. He also understood the concept of air mail when he saw the letter that confused the Twins. Although he is not as proficient compared to Hiccup when building inventions, Dawn of the Dragon Racers reveals that he managed to create a sheep launcher — though it took him 32 times to get it to be successful — and this invention is used in the dragon race.
Singing: Snotlout shows to be a good singer when he sang to a baby Fireworm and when he sang to an adult Death Song. He sang to Garff, the baby Death Song shot amber at Snotlout because he insulted the dragon.
Dragon Roar: He first attempted to use this skill by trying to make roar of a Changewing, which according to Fishlegs was wrong. He mastered his roar for a Monstrous Nightmare to call Hookfang.
Stitching: Snotlout was taught how to stitch by his mother, resulting in him able to cross-stitch Screaming Death scales onto Toothless and Hookfang as protective armor from dragon root arrows. He later showed regret at not using a lock-stitch to fasten the armor on when pieces started breaking away.
Trapping: Snotlout is shown to be good at creating traps, making a rope trap that knocked three Berserkers down a well which allowed him to grab their keys.
Acting: Snolout is a very competent actor, even able to fool Viggo Grimborn into believing he was a wealthy merchant. However, he accidentally exposed himself by using Berkian coins.
Leading: Snotlout is shown to be a competent leader on many occasions, being good at battle tactics and able to inspire the other Riders into following him. He is at first not considered a good leader because he allows his father to throw him off, and at the end shows himself capable of leading an effective mission.
Writing: Snotlout is shown writing a book called "The World According to Snotlout" or "The Wit and Wisdom of Snotlout" which included twelve chapters. It is said, even by Astrid; his greatest critic; that the last chapter "The Egg and I" was well written, and the book was very good.
Wing Blast: Snotout's wings are strong enough to blast a full-grown Hideous Zippleback to the ground and blow away Barf's gas, blow Smothering Smokebreath veil of smoke away (with the help of other Dragons), or move a pair of trees a very far distance. Snoutlout was able to combine this hidden ability and his flamethrower to create a more powerful attack. He has been seen using this in the battle against Dagur the Deranged and used this to save the Screaming Death's mother from harm to set her free from the ropes.
Strength: Snotlout is shown to be a very powerful Dragon Shifter as he has never shown any signs of struggle when lifting any heavy objects in the air. He has also proven to be very strong to carry the Fireworm Queen who is larger then himself without any struggle at all off the ground several meters high.
Agility: Snotlout has proven several times to be very flexible and agile. He can make turns by spinning in the air. He is also agile as he dodges many of the attacks from the Skrill. He is able to perform dodging maneuvers.
Swimming: Snotlout appears to be a great swimmer. When swimming, he somewhat resembles an alligator, with his tail and body on top of the surface. He has shown he can swim at a high speed. He used this ability to help fishers.
Speed: Snotlout is a very fast flier. He has shown that he is also relatively fast when running and swimming.
Flame Up: Like all Monstrous Nightmares, Snotlout is coated in some type of flammable gel, which he can then ignite and flames appear all over his body.
