The town gates

At each end of the towns long winding tunnel are the town gates. The gates are manned at all times and during some hours some of the entrances into the gates are closed and barred.
Inside each of the gates is a market square where wares can be traded and loaded on to the minecarts that can be hooked on to the cable chain transit system, and moved deeper into town. Each of the squares have a inn and tavern as well as barracks for the guards.
