Carbon Moss Therapy

Due to the many mutations, the environmental collapse and radioactivity that has spread all across the world, many new viruses and illnesses have developed. With varied species evolving throughout the years, came fresh minds to develop cures to the hazardous way of life.   One formidable illness swept through the dense population of the Kav’ik, a species that evolved and mutated from the genus Corvus. These beings have large, beautiful wings that spread out wide from their spines, a proud symbol of their place in this cruel world. Yet the novel illness that brought the Kav’ik to their knees was affecting their ability to fly, and that fact would not be tolerated amongst the proud and noble Kav’ik minds.   They dubbed this illness Wing Rot. An infection that would usually start as a rash or itch and then develop into nasty sores that caused a dreadful pain, grounding them. The pain was described as a searing hot flash through the spine as they would try to take off into flight. For decades no one knew how to combat this illness, or how to prevent the spread of the infection, not until Milo Carbon. A genius of sorts, a Kav’ik scientist who specialised in botany. He discovered that by packing a type of highly acidic moss onto the infected wings, the infection did not worsen and was treated within a few weeks with no cases reporting the return of the infection.   This new kind of treatment was named Carbon Moss Therapy (CMT), after Milo himself. He discovered this treatment after coming across an ancient relic buried deep under his garden as he was trying to dig up an old dead tree. The relic was a small metal lockbox, rusted in parts but otherwise intact. Inside were pieces of well-preserved paper covered in an unknown ancient text. Milo managed to recruit some experts to help him decipher this mysterious language, only to find notes of moss being used during a war to pack wounds. He was completely shocked at the coincidence of it all but took it as a divine gift; the Kav’ik are very spiritual beings.   Since that discovery, more scientists began to take an interest in the ancient civilisations that existed millions of years prior, knowing that they may have valuable knowledge to learn.
