The Bog
"Night fell quickly and we found ourselves searching franticly for a place to rest. It seemed as if the night was moving, shadows danced along our torch light as if the light itself was keeping them from bay. I had draw my sword in anticipation of something attacking when I saw Veld pulled from below the low lying waters of the marsh. In a flurry of water splashing and Veld struggling, we ran to his rescue hopefully not in vain. What manor of creature could pull a man down with such quickness, the thought of which made my heart skip several beets."

Geography
Fresh water from the Averoigne River flows into the marshlands of The Bog. Located North of the East Wood and expanding beyond the borders of the Highwall Barony, the Marsh encompasses 60 square miles of the territory.
Fauna & Flora
Cypress trees and marsh groves fill the marsh with twisted trees and mangled low lying branches. rising mist and tall cat tails poke above the fog which covers the ground almost all year long. Orchids and other exotic flowers grow here and are sought for their beauty and holistic properties. Several species of fresh water fish and crabs thrive in the marshy environment. Alligators skim below the surface in search of larger pray from deer to water buffalo. It is thought that several Hags make the Bog their home and kill any who step foot into marsh. Some legends speak of strange creatures that roam the swamp in search of the living, and lights that dance in the distant that lead unwary travelers to their death.
Natural Resources
The Bog is not known for any natural resources that are used or collected by anyone in the Highwall area, except for several plants that only the daring go to collect for the holistic properties.
