Patria
The capital city of The Principality of Al-Tiba and seat of the ruling Grand Prince or Princess, Patria is also the oldest city in the Principality. Originally founded as an artists refuge during the days of the Atkorian Empire, the city has maintained its fascination and concentration on culture and artistry.
The city sits on the beautiful Beleza River, right above the inland Medi Lake, who's 8 outgoing rivers give central Al-Tiba most of its arable farming land.
The city contains the Gran Palacio, the seat of the ruling Grand Prince or Princess. The Palacio is a massive domed structure known for its grand artistic works, impressive statues, and breathtaking murals. There's also the Salón das Lanzas, the home of the The Lanzarnos, the elite monk-warriors of Al-Tiba.
The city is also known for the Escola de inspiración, one of the foremost places of learning in Efaanu besides the Colastile in Ardsruth.
The city attracts philosophers, scholars, and traders from all around Efaanu. The city has seen the beginning of many an art movement and many famous scholars and writers have called the city home.
Government
The city is the seat of the Grand Prince or Princess, who is nominally in charge of the city as it is their seat of power. However, as the Grand Prince(ess) is often busy seeing to the needs of the entire nation they delegate to the Castellan de Patria, who is in charge of the cities day to day function and rule.
Defences
The city is defended by a group of soldiers personally funded and hired by the Grand Prince(ess) called The Primiero's, or "The First." They act both as military force and city watch for the city.
Additionally, as home to The Lanzarnos the city benefits from the protection of the warrior order.
Industry & Trade
The city is well known for its artists and artisans. It is said you will not find more beautiful (if not entirely functional) crafts anywhere else in Efaanu. Additionally, the river valleys feed the city which also in turn ships its extra food throughout the nation as needed. The food of Patria is also known as extremely excellent.
History
Originally founded as an artists enclave for the Atkorian Empire, Patria was essentially leveled during the fall of the Atkorian Empire. It was rebuilt by those who fell in love with the idea of the city, but with a lot of Human help.
The city has changed hands a lot of times over the centuries, until the fall of the Carlegnian's, whom the Al-Tibans constantly rebelled against. After they broke free the Al-Tiban's created their own independent kingdom, with Patria at the center.
Geography
The region around Patria is a river filled and beautiful region of trees, soft hills, and warm weather. The city sits on the Beleza River right above the the Medi Lake.
