Myr Settlement in Nilam | World Anvil

Myr

The only tribe of the Goliath that accepts outsiders, Myr is for many people the only door into Zemlvazkho. The tribe/town lies on the Northern coast of the "nation" and will allow outside traders and travelers (as long as they behave).    Myr didn't even originally intend to be a trading hub for the Goliath people. The tribe traveled to the coast because they realize just how much food could be garnered from certain fishing methods. It wasn't until later that they opened up to a few explorers and realized that trade could also benefit them.   Myr has occupied a good market niche for itself, where it trades for Goliath exclusive goods (certain Goliath made weapons, rare animal skins and meat, certain alchemical ingredients) and then trades those goods to outsiders in exchange for either outsider goods (metals they don't possess, healing potions they don't have the materials to make) or gold (to buy other outsider goods). This has made Myr the "de facto" capital of Zemlvazkho, even if that doesn't ring as true for the actual Goliath of the island.

Government

The Myr Tribe is ruled by the Clan Father, the eldest man of the Myr Tribe who is responsible for creating the "laws" (such as they are) for the tribe.

Defences

You ever attacked 7,000 angry and territorial Goliath? Probably not, and this author wouldn't recommend it.

Industry & Trade

Myr has occupied a good market niche for itself, where it trades for Goliath exclusive goods (certain Goliath made weapons, rare animal skins and meat, certain alchemical ingredients) and then trades those goods to outsiders in exchange for either outsider goods (metals they don't possess, healing potions they don't have the materials to make) or gold (to buy other outsider goods).

Architecture

Myran (and to a lesser extent, all Goliath, though most other tribes don't bother with permanent structures) architecture is much like its people. Effective, stoic, and purposeful.

Geography

The coastal region Myr is near is cold, windy, and snowy. But it is slightly less so than the rest of the island.
