Kryolan

Only a fool looks at the Kryolan and sees nothing more than scaly humanoids. Their physical shape notwithstanding, Kryolan possess an alien or at least barely understandable mindset. Civilized Kryolan of Rumah are often mistaken to have no emotions or desires. This "understanding" misses the core of the Kryolan as a people. While the Kryolan of the jungles have in some ways reverted to a more cold and logical thought process, the Kryolan of Rumah instead simply process emotions differently, they still feel emotions, just not as deeply or intensely as most mammals, and they are capable of essentially cutting off their emotions and letting the instinctual parts of their brains take the reigns. 
To further complicate matters the Kryolan of the Jungles of Savra are distinct from the much more common Kryolan of Rumah. While the Kryolan of Rumah are "civilized" and participate in civilization, and make an effort to understand and communicate with mammalian humanoids, the Kryolan of the jungles have no such desire. The Savran Kryolan possess an alien and inscrutable mindset, their desires and thoughts driven by a different set of basic principles than those of warm-blooded creatures. Their dismal swamp homes might lie hundreds of miles from the nearest human settlement, but the gap between their way of thinking and that of the smooth-skins is far greater.
Savran Kryolan experience most feelings as detached descriptions of creatures and situations. For example, humans confronted by an angry troll experience fear on a basic level. Their limbs shake, their thinking becomes panicked and jumbled, and they react by instinct. The emotion of fear takes hold and controls their actions. In contrast, Savran Kryolan see emotions as traits assigned to other creatures, objects, and situations. A Savran Kryolan doesn’t think, “I’m scared.” Instead, aggressive, stronger creatures register to the Savran Kryolan as fearsome beings to be avoided if possible. If such creatures attack, Savran Kryolan flee, fighting only if cornered. Savran Kryolan aren’t scared of a troll; instead, they understand that a troll is a fearsome, dangerous creature and react accordingly.
This divide is rooted in Kryolan history, when the ancient Atkorian's destroyed most of the Kryolan civilization of Tanah, only sparing Rumah. The Rumahn Kryolan became what they are today, while the Kryolan of the rest of Tanah retreated into the jungles and have become more bestial and instinctual.
Kryolan are sometimes called "Lizardfolk", but the term is considered insulting to Rumah Kryolan.

Additional Information

Geographic Origin and Distribution

"Civilized" Kryolan are mostly found in Lethennor, specifically Rumah. While Savran Kryolan are mostly found in the titular Jungle of Savra, attacking intruders.
Outside of Efaanu, it is said many Kryolan can be found in the jungles of Wahar, but little solid details exist.
