Qualifications

At least a major, preferably a Phd. Leadership abilities, experience teaching, and connections within the faculty and with the owner doesn't hurt your chances either.

Appointment

Either the last Dean chooses their replacement or the owner of the college does.

Responsibilities

They're just in charge of the college. They oversee everything.

Benefits

Deans are paid pretty well and have pretty high social standing.
