Puma squad

Puma Squad is one of Danger Gal’s most celebrated and recognizable teams. To the public, they are the perfect blend of style, competence, and charisma—a team of sleek, elite operatives that solve high-profile cases while looking like fashion icons pulled straight from an action-thriller series. Originally introduced to the public as five operatives whose cases conveniently overlapped, Puma Squad quickly became the corporation’s most prominent poster team. Their visual branding, sleek gear, stylish bodysculpting, and unmatched coordination have made them icons, spawning everything from an animated series to action figures, themed clothing lines, and convention cosplay circuits.   Despite their glamorous public-facing image, Puma Squad’s competence is not in question. They routinely handle high-risk operations, uncover organized crime rings, and carry out show-stopping arrests that are equal parts justice and public spectacle. They're especially popular with children and young adults, often seen as heroes or role models. The animated show Puma Squad—a stylized and family-friendly version of their real exploits—won multiple awards and served as cleverly disguised propaganda, reinforcing Danger Gal's reputation as a protector of the common people.   Puma Squad is also known for their elite gear and visual unity: stylized feline motifs, coordinated color palettes, and gear that toes the line between fashion runway and combat utility. Their real-world appearances at events are usually indistinguishable from their promotional art, blurring the line between fiction and reality in a way that only boosts their allure.   Mouse is known to the public as Puma Squad’s agile infiltration specialist. She’s quick, clever, and mischievously charming—often depicted in media as the team’s stealth expert who can break into any vault or facility with grace and finesse. She's often seen using acrobatic maneuvers, scaling buildings, and making narrow escapes. Her lithe build and custom cyberlegs make her instantly recognizable, and she’s commonly associated with tight, tech-enhanced suits that highlight her flexibility and athleticism. Mouse is often portrayed as a fan favorite in media adaptations, usually shown with a playful, mysterious edge.   Lynx is presented as the squad’s weapons expert and enforcer. With her sharp eyes and even sharper trigger finger, she’s the embodiment of firepower elegance. Her sleek arsenal of custom firearms and her signature stoic presence make her a dominant figure both on the field and in the media. Lynx is often depicted in marketing as the "cool older sister" of the group—competent, stylish, and unshakable. Publicly, she’s known for clean, high-impact takedowns, and she always dresses in symmetrical armor blends with clean lines and bold, professional accents.   Doc Mittens serves as Puma Squad’s field medic and bio-intervention expert. Her public persona is that of the caring healer who also knows how to throw a punch. Always equipped with high-tech medical gear and a calm demeanor, Doc Mittens appears in official content as a grounded and nurturing presence, known for helping victims on-scene while holding her own in battle. She wears hybrid armor that combines medical gear with combat utility, often portrayed with soothing voice lines and scenes of tactical triage and high-speed healing during combat.   Tigress is the team’s streetwise brawler and yogang outreach agent, known for her ferocity, protective instincts, and striking looks. The public sees her as the fierce older sister of the team, always ready to go claw-to-claw with anyone who threatens her team or civilians. Her street fashion aesthetic blends urban gear with exotic feline-themed enhancements, and she’s frequently featured in promotional materials as the one who handles gang disputes, protects the innocent, and throws enemies through walls. She's a symbol of raw power and street justice, appealing especially to youth and marginalized communities.   Pantera is portrayed as Puma Squad’s tech and recon specialist, operating in the shadows with quiet confidence. Known for their sharp intelligence and powerful presence, Pantera uses cutting-edge tech and cyberware to track, trace, and expose threats before they escalate. They are depicted as a master of surveillance, database infiltration, and drone operation. Public appearances highlight their elegance and poise, often draped in subtle but high-fashion techwear, with a quiet mystique that captivates fans. Pantera’s androgynous look and high-tech flair have made them a favorite among netrunners and fashion enthusiasts alike.   Mouse

History

Puma Squad is one of Danger Gal’s most public-facing and effective teams—an expertly crafted blend of marketing tool, espionage unit, and enforcement squad. It was designed by Danger Gal CEO Michiko Sanderson not only to act as a precise corporate weapon but also to serve as a living advertisement for the company’s values, style, and reach. The squad was born out of the orchestrated convergence of five uniquely skilled and highly attractive operatives: Mouse, Lynx, Doc Mittens, Tigress, and Pantera. Together, they became icons in Night City, with their work glamorized in comics, animation, and merchandise. Yet beneath the shiny surface, Puma Squad was a scalpel in Michiko’s hands—especially in her quiet war against Arasaka sleeper agents and covert threats to the company.   Their origin story, sold to the public, claimed they were simply five extraordinary individuals whose cases coincidentally overlapped and led them to team up. The truth, however, is far more deliberate. Danger Gal specifically selected each member to be photogenic, telegenic, and dynamic, cultivating personas that could operate seamlessly in the public eye while still performing covert and highly dangerous tasks behind the scenes. From sleek animated adaptations and fashion dolls to “real” costumes that fans could wear—and which agents themselves could use for deep cover—Puma Squad blurred the lines between icon and operative. In fact, the real members often impersonated their own fans, creating layers of confusion in the field that made tracking them almost impossible.   Beyond their popularity, Puma Squad was Michiko's handpicked spearhead in black ops efforts, particularly against Arasaka. She gave them two “feel good” missions a year to serve as well-publicized victories for the people—carefully curated busts that showcased their heroism and Danger Gal’s commitment to justice. These stories, filtered through the lens of media, became episodes, comic arcs, and merchandise campaigns. The proceeds from these endeavors weren’t just promotional—they were also practical, offsetting some of Puma Squad’s considerable operational expenses.   The team operated out of the 11th and 12th floors of the Danger Gal HQ in Night City, a sleek, exclusive space outfitted with suites, armories, simulation rooms, and meeting spaces. They had full access to the rooftop AV hangar, vehicle pools, and both official and “off-the-books” armories. On the surface, their gear was as flashy and curated as their image—chrome, style, and spectacle—but when the masks came off and the mission went dark, they knew how to blend in, strip down, and get the job done without leaving a trace.   Their most publicized success was the Arboretum Water Lily Heist, where the team uncovered and dismantled a ring of floral patent poachers who had stolen nearly extinct water lily specimens from Night City University’s Loggagia Arboretum. The high-profile case involved going undercover within rogue propagator communities and ended with the recovery of the specimens and the exposure of a wealthy fixer with a fetish for rare botany. The story was turned into a season-long saga in the Puma Squad animated series and became a merchandising hit, sweeping awards for animation, storytelling, and character design.   Mouse, born Moira Kahn, had a corporate upbringing but lacked emotional nurture. After a tragic car accident claimed her parents and her legs, she drifted into the Corporate Orphan Training Program. Aged out and disillusioned, Moira reinvented herself as a cyber-augmented cat burglar, her acrobatic feats becoming legend. Danger Gal’s inability to catch her turned into an opportunity when CEO Michiko herself recruited the young thief, offering her a new identity and body sculpting. Moira became Mouse: a dazzling, loyal field agent, poster girl, and a pillar of Puma Squad. She later formed a bond—romantic or otherwise—with Pantera, another team member, and was the one who brought Shoko Asagiri to DG’s attention.   Lynx, whose real name is Bella Sawyer, had a traumatic upbringing, shaped by religious extremism and emotional neglect. Her sister Jacqueline, cast out for being gay, escaped early, leaving Bella behind to endure the doctrine of the Inquisitors. After her grandmother’s arrest and mother’s death in an attack on Rocklin Augmentics, Bella was adopted by an NCPD officer. She tried to follow in his footsteps, even applying to be a City Executioner—an application that, though denied, caught the attention of Danger Gal. Accepting their offer after being rejected by the force, Bella entered DG’s ranks and later joined Puma Squad. Fierce, principled, and armed to the teeth with weapons often crafted by her sister Jack, Lynx brought tactical expertise and emotional depth to the team.   Doc Mittens, born Naomi Alexis, came from the badlands around Colorado Springs. Her family’s desperation led to the sale of her younger sister Minna to a wealthy Night City couple—a betrayal that scarred Naomi and set her on a lifelong quest to find her lost sibling. She left home with a nomad clan and studied under a healer, developing her medical skills. Eventually arriving in Night City, her search brought her to the attention of Danger Gal, who hired her for both her abilities and her story. With DG’s resources, Naomi hoped to find Minna, but by 2045, she had no leads. As Doc Mittens, she became the squad’s combat medic and moral core, often treating her comrades, including Pantera during the HQ infiltration incident.   Tigress was raised in the Combat Zones of South Night City, toughened by street survival and hardened by necessity. She organized a yogang and forged uneasy alliances with local boostergangs to keep herself and her charges safe. Her skill and leadership caught Danger Gal’s eye when she accepted a contract on a VIP under their protection. Rather than eliminate her, DG bought her loyalty. Now part of Puma Squad, Tigress remained a self-interested but reliable operative, especially when it came to youth outreach. Her devotion to helping orphans and street kids mirrored her own roots. She was a legend in the undercity—rumored to be a guardian spirit who bailed kids out of trouble and gave them a roof and hot water when they needed it. She personally spearheaded DG’s yogang recruitment, approaching members of Generation Red, including Blades, in an attempt to sway them toward the corporation.   Pantera, born Shoko Asagiri, hailed from Vancouver. The child of a braindance editor and a Biotechnica fauna designer, Shoko struggled with body dysmorphia until they transitioned and adopted their true name. A brilliant mind, they earned a Master’s in Library Sciences and took up work in Night City as a librarian. Their criminal curiosity emerged when they discreetly copied unreleased episodes of Elflines Online Chronicles for personal enjoyment—not to sell, but out of boredom and need for stimulation. Mouse, who investigated the case, recognized something deeper in Shoko and brought them into Danger Gal. There, Shoko found purpose, power, and transformation as Pantera. Highly analytical, deeply calm, and mysteriously charismatic, they became an essential part of Puma Squad—and a romantic partner of Mouse. In the 2045 HQ incident, Pantera fought alongside Mouse, taking down most of the infiltrators and ensuring the survivors were later tracked down and interrogated.   Together, these five operatives form the dangerous, dazzling, and deeply layered face of Danger Gal. Puma Squad is as much myth as it is muscle—heroes, idols, and agents operating behind masks that often smile for the camera, but hide secrets, scars, and missions far removed from the light.
