Lael Patriye

Lael Patriye was the daughter of a Vintner and grew up in the Safferian Sphere for most of her young life. In 545 when she turned 16 her father's latest expedition to the Suda ended in disaster when they were caught in a burst and the entire caravan was wiped out. With both of her parents gone she struggled at such a young age to take over the family business but was ousted from ownership when a local business rival of her father's used his contacts to make life difficult for her and managed to find a way to pay off a lord to take over her land and the business. With her fathers pride and joy taken from her and no home to live in anymore she ended up traveling to the Cirissian Sphere hoping for a new life. There she came across the Sanctuary of the Holy Crysannia and they took her in. The Glistening Thorns originally only had thoughts to feed her and give her a place to stay for a few nights, but she quickly decided that she belonged there and took her holy vows not long after. In the two years that followed she learned everything she could of the blade and the thorn, mastered every specialty and became the High Priest's personal bane. In her personal opinion he took everything too seriously and didn't know how to relax and have any fun so she took it upon herself to play tricks on him whenever she could.

Thorny Lael

Lael had been a full fledged thorn by this point for only two years, but was already making a strong name for herself. Even though the Glistening Thorns were still a new order, word was getting around and she was being requested for by name. The problem with this of course was that Lael didn't do well in the groups that the thorns sent out to finish their assigments. She has a nasty habit of disappearing on her own in the middle of a skirmish only to appear out of thin air with the head of the target, usually scaring her own team in the process. The other thorns both admired and feared her, not because she had a mean disposition, but because she could disappear and appear out of thin air as easy as breathing and worse she liked to use it to scare the other thorns mercilessly.
